What's The Best Time For Journaling?

What's the best time for Journaling? Someone had asked me this question on Instagram once. I forgot who (apologies) but I thought of writing the answer here. I am glad I had noted it down in my blog journal.

So, the best time for journaling depends on what kind of journaling practice you are planning to take up. If it's a commonplace journal, you fill it 24*7, I mean whenever you need to write in it, you do.

The best time for journaling, other than depending upon the kind of journaling practice, also depends on you. Yes, you. The best time is actually whenever you are free to dump your mind and feelings on paper, or whenever you are free of distractions to spend some insightful, fun moments with you non-judgmental companion—your journal.

Now, coming back to the kinds of journaling and the best time to do them.

-Gratitude Journaling (making a list of things you're grateful for) is best done after waking up or before going to bed. You can also list the things you're grateful for if you are stuck in negative situations and need to see the bright side of life. We always have more to be grateful for than we can imagine—are you grateful for the air you are breathing? You should be, especially during these times.

-Morning Pages (3 pages of free-writing) are also—as the name suggests—done in the morning but not everyone has so much time in the morning unless we start waking up, at least, an hour earlier. My morning pages easily stretch into the afternoon. Sometimes, I write a page or two in the evening or night too.

-Scripting or Journaling for Manifestation
(writing your dream life as if you're already living it) is best done when you are in a cheerful mood and are ready to attract your dream life into your reality. Some even do scripting on the full moon and new moon nights. I am not well-read on moon journaling rituals though. You may search on Google, Pinterest, or Youtube for the same.

You can do any other kind of journaling at any time of the day that suits you. Don't overthink it, just make a schedule and include journaling in your daily routine. Once you know what time works best for you, try to journal at the same time each day so that it becomes a habit over a month.
