Have you ever felt so stuck in life that all doors seemed closed but one?
The one door that always remains open.
That one door takes us closer to God.
There are situations in life when you feel crushed under the weight of responsibilities, betrayals, failures, guilt, regret and all the low-frequency emotions you can possible handle at one point in life.
Everyone seems to be against you. You feel stupid explaining your hurt, you feel like your world is coming crashing down upon you.
In those moments, nothing makes sense. You no longer know what do you even want. You start losing yourself, your mind, your control over your thoughts, your control over your words and actions.
Your head ache so much, it will end up blasting. Tears? You have lost the amount of times you wept in secret — locked behind bedroom or bathroom doors, locked in your car, any place you could breathe alone.
Loneliness becomes your bittersweet friend. You have learned to embrace it through tears.
But in those lonely times, someone stands stronger alongside you. And that someone is God.
We can do nothing but pray. We call upon God so much that God comes and stands next to you. Holds your hand through your darkest times.
When everything is dark, God is the only light we can see and maybe, that's the whole purpose of the darkness — to seek God, to remember we were never separate from God ever.
And in those moments, you don't seek God with perfect prayers and Hymns. You get close to God in your broken words, in your tears. Your tears, like prayers, flow endlessly and land in the divine palms of God.
You don't even need words because God knows what's happening inside your heart. God resides in us. God can see within us and through us.
I have been wronged several times by several people. But I remained attached to those people rather than surrendering to God.
I did cry a damn lot before, I did complain a lot but I forgot to detach and surrender.
Some people were so close to me, I could not detach even if I tried to. They kept popping up in my life, their name, themselves, just could not ignore them.
That's when I needed God the most, that's when I felt distanced from God the most. You see, when darkness consumes us, we fail to see the light that's always there with us.
Anxiety makes us blind to God when God's the One we need the most in those moments.
But then, we pray. We pray against all odds. We find our way back to God, falling several times but refusing to give up.
We are the favorite children of God, even if we fall a 100 times, God will give us the strength to rise back up and continue, no matter how tough the situation seems.
My situation hasn't improved but I know I am guided by God at every step of the way. I no longer seek revenge but detachment.
I want detachment from people living rent free in my head. I want my head to be occupied with God's name, business, goals, my loved ones.
Someday, God will hear my prayers and give me all that I always wanted & needed in my life.
