I had one of those moments recently.
It left me with happy tears in my eyes.
It Started With One Journal
My very first customer happened to be a friend.
Like anyone launching something new, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness when I sent her personalized journal.
You spend hours creating something with love, but there's always a small voice in your head wondering,
"Will they love it as much as I loved creating it?"
When she received it, she didn't just message me privately.
She shared it on her Instagram Story.
I smiled, thanked her, and thought, "That's so kind."
I had no idea that little act of support would become the beginning of another story.
One Story Led to Another
Someone saw her Instagram Story.
They reached out.
They placed an order for a personalized journal of their own.
It felt surreal.
Not because I had made another sale, but because someone who had never met me trusted something they had only seen for a few seconds on a phone screen.
That kind of trust means everything when you're building something from scratch.
Then Came the Moment I'll Never Forget
A few days later, that customer received her journal.
She showed it to her family.
Later, she messaged me with something I wasn't expecting.
Her parents loved it so much that they each wanted one.
She also decided to order two more journals as gifts for her friends.
For a few moments, I just sat there reading her message again and again.
Not because of the number of journals.

The Greatest Compliment Wasn't the Order
The greatest compliment wasn't that someone ordered four more journals.
It was hearing that an entire family looked at one journal and said,

That was the moment something shifted inside me.
I realized I wasn't simply designing notebooks.

Something they wanted to keep.
Something they wanted to gift.

As a creator, I honestly don't think there's a bigger compliment than that.

Whenever someone places an order, I ask questions that go far beyond their favorite color.
I want to know about their dreams.
Their hobbies.
The places they love.
The people who matter most.
The little details that have shaped who they are.
Sometimes they tell me about childhood memories.
Sometimes it's a favorite book, a meaningful trip, a beloved pet, or a dream they're still working toward.
Those details become symbols, illustrations, quotes, and hidden touches throughout the cover.
By the time I'm finished, the journal isn't just personalized.
It's personal.
That's an important difference.
The Kind of Business I Hope to Build
Of course, every small business owner hopes for sales.
But if I'm being honest, that's never been the part that excites me most.
What stays with me are the messages.
The photos.
The reactions.
The stories people share after opening their journal for the first time.
Those moments remind me that meaningful products create meaningful conversations.
Sometimes they even bring families together over something as simple as a journal.
That's something I never want to take for granted.
