For a long time, I believed something very simple.
If I improve my skills, my income will grow.
So I kept learning. Watching. Improving. Trying to become better.
And yet, there were phases where nothing really changed.
Same effort. Same skills.
But different results.
That is when I started noticing something uncomfortable.
It was not just about what I knew.
It was about how I felt while doing it.
The Part No One Talks About
We are taught to focus on skills.
Learn more. Do better. Be more qualified.
And yes, skills matter.
But they are not the only factor.
Two people can have similar skills.
One struggles to earn.
The other attracts opportunities.
What creates the difference?
Energy.
Not in a mystical way.
In a very real, practical way.
What “Energy” Actually Means
Energy is not something complicated.
It is your internal state.
Your thoughts.
Your beliefs.
Your emotional patterns.
It is how you show up.
If your energy is:
“I hope this works”
“I am not sure if I am good enough”
“People may not value this”
Then your actions become hesitant.
You delay. You second-guess. You underprice. You hold back.
And people can feel that.
Skills Open Doors. Energy Decides If You Walk In
You can be talented.
But if you doubt yourself, you will not take opportunities.
You will wait. Overthink. Miss chances.
On the other hand, when your energy is:
“I can figure this out”
“My work has value”
“I am ready for more”
You act differently.
You apply. You share. You show up.
Same skill level.
Different behavior.
Different results.
Why Low Energy Blocks Income
When your internal state is rooted in fear or lack, it reflects in small ways:
You hesitate to raise your prices.
You avoid visibility.
You over-deliver but undercharge.
You feel uncomfortable receiving money.
These are not skill problems.
They are belief patterns.
And until they shift, income feels inconsistent.
How High Energy Changes Everything
High energy does not mean being excited all the time.
It means being grounded and self-trusting.
It looks like:
Speaking clearly about your work
Taking action without overthinking
Being open to receiving
Trusting your growth
When your energy shifts, your actions align.
And when your actions align, results follow.
My Personal Shift
There was a time when I kept thinking:
“I need to learn more before I can earn more.”
But the truth was, I was already capable.
I just did not fully believe it.
Once I started working on my mindset, things began changing.
Not overnight.
But steadily.
I showed up more confidently.
I stopped shrinking my work.
I allowed myself to receive.
And opportunities started feeling more natural.
Simple Ways to Shift Your Energy
You do not need to do everything at once.
Start small.
1. Notice Your Default Thoughts
What do you say to yourself about money and work?
Awareness is the first step.
2. Use Gentle Affirmations
Not extreme ones.
Simple ones like:
“My work has value.”
“I am open to receiving more.”
3. Take One Confident Action Daily
Even a small step.
Send that message.
Share your work.
Apply for that opportunity.
4. Reduce Overconsumption
Too much information creates doubt.
You already know more than you think.
5. Visualize Stability, Not Just Success
Instead of chasing big results, imagine feeling calm and secure while earning.
That creates sustainable energy.
A Grounded Truth
This does not mean skills are unimportant.
They matter.
But they are only part of the equation.
Skills help you do the work.
Energy helps you believe you deserve the results of that work.
And that belief changes how you show up every single day.
If you feel stuck in your income, do not just ask:
“What more do I need to learn?”
Also ask:
“How am I showing up right now?”
Because sometimes the shift you need is not external.
It is internal.
And once that shifts, everything else begins to follow.
