We all have days when the heart feels so heavy that it can't find words and yet it's the words that saved me on those days.
I have always been a pen and paper girl. Even when I didn't know what journaling was, I journaled. I scribbled all over the pages. I wrote, I drew, I let pages be my safe space.
As a child, I was scared of expressing my feelings, so I chose scribbles. They weren't words anyone could read and understand, they were lines with no meaning and yet they provided a safe outlet for my built up emotions. I was sensitive and even a little remark from anyone could trigger my sadness for weeks.
When I grew up and had access to the internet, I got to know about journaling and with time, I started up writing proper words and gave my feelings a voice. I was still scared someone would find my journals and read so I wasn't completely honest. It helped me a lot regardless.
The best part about journaling? I wasn’t writing for anyone else. I was writing myself back home.
I have used my journal for everything: Process my emotions, planning my goals, decluttering my mind and environment, manifesting my goals. Writing affirmations, gratitude journaling, writing letters to God, and morning pages are some of my most favourite forms of journaling. I have used a journal in more ways than I can remember. I can't imagine my life without journaling and I can't wait to introduce it to my daughter.
In my book Master Your Reality, I have mentioned several manifestation techniques that can be done using just a pen, paper and pure intentions at heart.
I have also launched my own Meetlife Journals, one of which became a bestseller on Amazon UK. But then, my Amazon account got terminated and all my journals got removed from the marketplace. The setback was real, but what helped me hold myself together? My Journal. I cried on the pages and I found new business ideas on the pages.
I put the journal back again on Amazon. The sales aren't as high as they were before but it's still there to buy. So many people loved it. It's called LET IT GO journal.
Anyway, even today, whenever I feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from myself, I turn to my journal.
It has never once judged me. It has only ever listened. Patiently. Softly. Completely.
Through the hardest seasons of my life, journaling taught me one thing:
Healing isn’t loud. It’s quiet. It’s hidden inside small, unseen moments where you choose yourself again and again.
Every time I wrote about my fears, I unknowingly loosened their grip.
Every time I wrote about my dreams, I unknowingly planted their seeds.
It wasn’t an overnight miracle.
It was a slow, beautiful unfolding—the kind where one day, you look back and realize,
"I'm not the same person who first picked up that pen."
If You’re Just Starting Your Journaling Journey…
Let it be messy. Let it be honest. Let it be yours.
You don’t have to be poetic. You don’t have to be consistent.
You only have to be willing to meet yourself on the page.
Here are a few gentle prompts you can try if you don't know where to begin:
🌸 Today, my heart is whispering...
🌸 I am ready to release...
🌸 A memory I want to heal is...
🌸 I give myself permission to...
Some days, you’ll have pages to pour.
Other days, a single line will carry your whole soul.
Both are enough. You are enough.
Your story matters.
Your feelings matter.
And every time you write, you are giving yourself the most beautiful gift:
Being seen. Being heard. Being loved—by the one who needs it the most: You.
