TRUSTING GOD: THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE

My Favourite Excerpts From What I Know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey

I read What I Know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey last month and I could not help but highlight most of it. So, without taking much of your time with the praises of the book (which is clear from the number of excerpts I have chosen as favourites from a ton of text that I had highlighted), I'd get straight to sharing the excerpts.

This book can change your whole perspective towards life!

"Books, for me, used to be a way to escape. I now consider reading a good book a sacred indulgence, a chance to be any place I choose. It is my absolute favourite way to spend time. What I know for sure is that reading opens you up. It exposes you and gives you access to anything your mind can hold. What I love most about reading: It gives you the ability to reach higher ground. And keep climbing."

"One of my greatest lessons has been to fully understand that what looks like a dark patch in the quest for success is the universe pointing you in a new direction. Anything can be a miracle, a blessing, an opportunity if you choose to see it that way."

"if you're looking for someone to heal and complete you—to shush that voice inside you that has always whispered You're not worth anything—you are wasting your time. Why? Because if you don't already know that you have worth, there's nothing your friends, your family, or your mate can say that will completely convince you of that. The Creator has given you full responsibility for your life, and with that responsibility comes an amazing privilege—the power to give yourself the love, affection, and intimacy you may not have received as a child. You are the one best mother, father, sister, friend, cousin, and lover you will ever have."

"What I know for sure: There is no need to struggle with your body when you can make a loving and grateful peace with it."

"While I was waiting on God, God was waiting on me. He was waiting on me to make a decision to either pursue the life that was meant for me or to be stifled by the one I was living. I recognized the truth that I am all right just as I am. I am enough all by myself. That revelation brought its own miracle."

"To me, miracles are confirmation that something larger than us is at work."

"My goal: to stay open to all the universe has to offer. Every year. Every day."

"For me, doubt often means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward."

"Freedom isn't about not having a master. Freedom is about having a choice."

"I know for sure that what I think, what I say, what I do—everything will be returned to me. And the same is true for you."
